POTTERY COURSES IN SOUTHERN FRANCE Lucante in the "Parc régional des grands Causses", is an old 18 th century farm at 450 m altitude, surrounded by 40 ha of woods, heath and organically cultivated land. A very beautiful place in a natural and unspoilt environment situated in a region called "Le Rougier" where the earth and the houses are red... The country of the mysterious MENHIR-STATUES (2500-3000 B.C.).
	Lucante has become a magnet for lovers of pottery, and since 1980, the courses have achieved an international reputation.  Mastering an art takes a long time...but it is possible to go in some depth into some aspects according to one's particular interests. The Courses
THE PRODUCTION Stoneware to use and cook with every day. White porcelain. Glazes made of vegetable ashes, natural clay and rocks. Specimen pieces either unglazed or glazed (at high or low temperatures).	THE COURSES The one or two weeks'course in Lucante is broad based with the emphasis on self discovery. Various themes : -From raw clay to glazed pieces (1 or 2 weeks) -Primitive Pottery -Raku and bonfired pots -Glaze research (1 week) -Throwing (1 week)	THE ACCOMMODATION Rooms or camping available for students, close to the Workshop. Fresh and varied food based on natural and regional products in St Sever (5 Km). Lucante is neither an hotel nor a restaurant but a place where one who needs space as well as creative and enriching vacations can meet and share with others ; a place where we value simplicity, beauty and tolerance.
